I was in the condo for the first time in a long time (mobility issues) and have to say that the new lifts are fantastic. By contrast, the wheelchair ramp into the poolside restaurant is VERY steep and my carer struggled to push me into the restaurant. The wheelchair access into the front of the building is also very steep though Security were very helpful and pushed my chair up the very steep slope. Before I had my stroke I calculated that the average angle of the slope at the front was 12 degrees, which is way above the maximum recommended. Indeed most electric wheelchairs cannot cop with a slope that steep. I don't know the average slope of the ramp at the restaurant but suspect it is similar
Due to a stroke, I no longer live in the condo but do visit from time to time so being in a wheelchair, it is important for me to know what arrangements have been made!!!!!! Still a total disgrace! An unreserved apology is in order!!!!!
Not everyone reads the forum and some of us were not available. If you have a question directly for the committee you can Email the committee members or just go to the office and ask your question. If the office doesn't have an answer they would notify a committee member.
Any resident who needs assistance exiting the building in the event of an emergency should register their name, room number and phone number with the office. In the event of an emergency a security employee will be available to assist.
I am pleased to note that the committee has approved the purchase of a wheelchair for the building but I am still awaiting an answer to a comment I made some time ago as to what plans there are to assist disabled residents out of the building in an emergency
